This collection consists of six reports written by Mattie B. Rowe of Alabama as the Supreme Juvenile Matron between 1943 and 1952 – five reports to the biennial sessions of the Supreme Court of the Order of Calanthe and one annual report for the Grand Court of the Order of the Calanthe of the state of Alabama. In these reports she describes the size and status of the various Juvenile Departments across the United States and in Alabama.

The Order of the Calanthe is the women’s auxiliary unit of the Knights of Pythias. Mattie B. Rowe of Alabama was the Supreme Juvenile Matron between 1943 and 1952.
