Biographical/Historical note
T.H. Crenshaw, Jr. (Thaddeus Henry), son of Thaddeus Henry and Annie C. Crenshaw of Butler County, was born 28 July 1887 at The Ridge, Butler County, Alabama. He married Martha "Mattie" Cordelia Dominick on 25 August 1910 in Greensboro, Hale County, Alabama. The couple had three children: (1) Clara Gab; (2) Thaddeus Henry, Jr. (III); and (3) Richard C.
Crenshaw died on 26 July 1963 at The Ridge, just two days short of his 76th birthday.
Scope and Contents note
The collection contains photocopies of the papers, including personal correspondence, bills, receipts, business correspondence, etc., of the Crenshaw family. There is also a list of Crenshaw family letters available at the state archives, a typed transcript of a letter from Edward Crenshaw, written from the University of Alabama, 28 November 1858, and biographical information on the Crenshaw family.
