The collection contains a paper entitled, A Story about an Incident at Shake Rag Church (Methodist), a short biographical sketch of Echols titled, William Graham Echols, A.B., M.A., D.D. and an article titled Lecture Topics of William Graham Echols, M.A., D.D., Lecturer Emeritus, University of Alabama."

Biographical/Historical note

William Graham Echols was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, on 11 November 1892. He attended Birmingham Southern College, the University of Alabama, and Emory University and married Anna Virginia Hale in 1916. They had three children: Mary Lillie (Mrs. K.T. Blackman); William Jr.; and John Hale. He served as a minister in the North Alabama Methodist Conference, was a member of the faculties of Athens College, Birmingham Southern College, Illinois Weslyan University, Stillman College, and for twenty-five years was a faculty member at the University of Alabama in the Department of Religion. He died in Birmingham, Alabama, on 24 December 1982.
