Abstract:

Letter from M.E. Ludington of Fulton, New York, to J.H. Ruggler, Chief Clerk at the Canal Department in Albany, New York, on behalf of Mr. Terry. He asks him to inquire about a contract that was made and contained an estimate to build a bridge over the Oswego Canal.

Scope and Contents note

This collection consists of one letter written on behalf of Mr. Terry to J.H. Ruggler, Chief Clerk at the Canal Department in Albany, New York. He asks him to inquire about a contract that was made with the late Mr. Fisk or Mr. Richmond that contained an estimate to build a bridge over the Oswego Canal. He claims the bridge will not be finished by the opening of navigation unless the money due on the estimate is received by Mr. Terry as soon as possible. Design embossed in top left corner of letter with "B & G."
