Scope and Contents note
The collection contains a letter from Edith (Mrs. Walter J.) Towne of Berlin, Germany to Randy (Mrs. Peter) Merriman of Holyoke, Massachusetts. Edith is apparently on an extended trip to Germany as she says that she has sent in her church contribution covering April 1-July 1. She also asks Randy to purchase some candy or flowers for a mutual friend's birthday. She ends by saying that she is going to the opera to hear Albert Lortzing's Zar und Zimmermann featuring Heinrich Schlusnus (the "best baritone in Berlin") as the Czar.
