Scope and Contents note

Contains news from girlhood friends now grown and far apart, describing their families and life circumstances, and reminiscing about a childhood in Greenville, Kentucky. Three letters come from Ethel Bell of Falmouth, Kentucky, one from Annie May Wallace of Greenville, Kentucky, and one from M.M.E. Another letter was written by Alleen Hill to Ethel Bell, returned 50 years after the fact by Ethel, according to one of Ethel's letters.

Biographical/Historical note

Alleen Hill received the letters at an address in Lousiville, Kentucky, but the topics of the letters tend to surround girlhood friendships in Greenville, Kentucky. A majority of the letters (four of six) are circa 1970, written when the women are seniors, with references to grandchildren and health problems.
