V.L.P, a young man in Burbank, Ohio, discloses his thoughts primarily concerning high school, his personal creeds, and his ambitions for his future education or employment. He shows a studious and philosophical nature, but also writes news of daily events, friends and family members.
Scope and Contents note
Contains a young man's thoughtful diary entries written over the winter and spring of 1893, primarily concerning school, his personal creeds, his ambitions for his future education or employment, with some news of daily events, friends and family members. A good portion of the ledger used to write the diary is taken up with various scholarly notes from literature and philosophy, with a smattering of Latin and many aphorisms.

Biographical/Historical note
V.L.P. is a high school student living in Burbank, Ohio, where he is also employed at a tile company. He takes an exam for teacher certification, but has dreams of going on to college.
