Marcia Rice writes to parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Munn of Dummerston, Vermont, from St. Louis, Missouri while on a trip with her husband. They made a stop in New Orleans where she visited the site of the Battle of New Orleans.

Scope and Contents note
Marcia Rice writes to parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Munn of Dummerston, Vermont, from St. Louis, Missouri while on a trip with her husband. They made a stop in New Orleans where she visited the site of the Battle of New Orleans and traced General Jackson's footsteps. She also collected a musket ball from the battle grounds and saw the foundations of a monument to be erected in honor of the battle.
She will wait with friends in St. Louis for two months while her husband travels to Arkansas to attend to business.
