Biographical/Historical note
Charles Reese lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
The donor of this letter indicated that Reese was a Quaker. He uses he pronouns "thee" and "thou" when addressing his friend, which does imply that Reese was a Quaker.
Scope and Contents note
Letter from Charles Reese to friend James Hallowell congratulating James on his engagement in a very poetic style of writing. The letter was addressed to Alexandria, D.C.
