Scope and Contents note

This collection consists of letters to Louise Avey congratulating her on her forth-coming marriage in 1926. She was the announcer for the market news on the Wichita, Kansas radio station KFH and many of the letters are from her listeners wishing her well, but also bemoaning the fact that they wouldn't get to hear her voice on the airwaves. She married Jesse Noland Hawkins on December 4, 1926 and moved to Louisville, Kentucky.

The collection also has a large number of newspaper clippings from various Kansas and Kentucky newspapers about Avey's engagement and marriage.
