Biographical/Historical note
In 1886, Edward B. Ambler was a resident of Cool Spring, Virginia.
Scope and Contents note
This collection contains a letter to Edward B. Ambler from his cousin, G. D. H. about his health. G. D. H. also describes family history he has recently discovered in the form of letters and journals. One ancestor, Daniel Fisher, wrote of his voyage from London to America in 1750 and his time as a merchant in Williamsburg. Later this ancestor traveled to Philadelphia and spent some time in the printing office of Benjamin Franklin. G. D. H. expresses an interest in publishing the journal.
