Scope and Contents note

This collection contains a letter from M. Baller to his mother and father, written from Townshend, Vermont, on 16 November 1874, about running a boarding house. He notes that there are already two "table" boarders paying $6.00 each per week, and that he could take at least two more. He explains that the arrangement with the current boarders is "we let them have the room, and they furnish it, we take care of it, they get their own washing done."
