Scope and Contents note
The collection contains letters to and from Augustus and Nelia Merriman. Four letters were written to Nelia from her friend Isabel, cousins Ada M. and Hattie Rideout, and her mother. These letters talked mainly of family news and the couple's children. One letter is from Augustus to Nelia, telling her of happenings on the farm since her departure on a trip to Auburn, Maine. In another brief letter he mentions that he is enclosing a letter from Hattie, which is also in the collection.
