This collection contains two letters written to members of the Shannon family. The first is written by Howard P. Ruff, Sergeant First Class, United States Navy, during World War II, to Reverend R. A. Shannon. The letter is written on stationery from the U.S. Naval Auxiliary Air Station, Twenty-nine Palms, California, post-marked from Port Hueneme, California, and addressed to Dubuque, Iowa. Possible homosexual overtones are present.
