Scope and Contents note
Contains 60 letters written to Sarah and Norval Holmstad from friends and relatives in Norway. Twenty-two letters are from Marie Fasgaard of Tronstad and fifteen from Ida Wullum of Skreia. Remaining letters are from Hermod Skryseth, Ovidie Kongskog, Solveig Nilson, Anna Habberstad, and Kristian Faksland. All letters are written in Norwegian.
Biographical/Historical note
Sigrid and Norval Homlstad lived in Stoughton, Wisconsin, a city know for its Norwegian heritage. Norval was born March 16, 1894, and died in December 1971. Sarah was born August 7, 1895, and died in November 1971. Norval's parents were Norwegian immigrants, and Sarah was born in Norway.
