Biographical/Historical note
George E. Kresal was born in 1927 and served in the U. S. Navy following World War II. He lived in Omro, Wisconsin.
Scope and Contents note
this collection contains one letter written from George Kresal to his parents while he served with the United States Navy in Guam. He wrote of his daily life on the base in Apra Harbor. He also mentioned various news from his hometown and described being in the honor guard for the departure of Vice Admiral George D. Murray. The collection also contains a newspaper clipping related to Murray's replacement by Rear Admiral Charles Alan Powell.
