Scope and Contents note

This collection contains one letter from Lieutenant Colonel Harvey Sheppard to Colonel John Pohl. The two had met at the Confederate Stamp Alliance convention in Richmond, Virginia. Sheppard enclosed with the letter a stamp set that Pohl had requested and asked that he forward any information he had regarding Virginia postmarks.

Biographical/Historical note

Harvey E. Sheppard graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 1932 and served in the U. S. Army.
