Biographical/Historical note

Elisabeth Koffka-Ahlgrimm (1896-1994) received her doctorate from the University of Giessen in Germany. She was briefly married to the German psychologist Kurt Koffka in 1923 and taught history at Smith College from 1929 to 1961.

This collection contains three letters written to Elisabeth Koffka-Ahlgrimm in London, England, from a friend in Madison, Wisconsin. Letters are written in German. Both are addressed to Koffka-Ahlgrimm by way of the Educational Guild in London.
