Biographical/Historical note
Evie Eugenia Harris was the oldest daughter of Robert T. and Estella S. Harris of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She graduated from the Tuscaloosa Female College in 1884 with a Mistress of Arts degree and in 1888 earned her Graduate in Arts degree from the same institution.
