Scope and Contents note
The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings of stories about the University of Alabama or her alumni. The compiler saved articles on the activities of University graduates, such as marriage announcements, obituaries, records of promotion, enlistment in the armed services, and class reunions. Articles on graduation ceremonies, fraternity pledging, and general news about the University, its faculty, and board of directors have been collected. The book contains many articles on the centennial celebration at the University in 1916.
The Crimson White (Tuscaloosa), Birmingham Age-Herald, Birmingham Ledger, Birmingham News, Mobile Register, Montgomery Advertiser, and Washington Star are among the newspapers represented.
Biographical/Historical note
